International English Language Testing System. It is a system of language assessment and testing, designed to show whether a person has the level of English needed to study at a university or professional school abroad. The IELTS test is accepted by the immigration authorities of more than 130 countries, as well as by businesses and universities in many other countries.

The IELTS is divided into two parts: the Academic Module and the General Training Module. The Academic Module is for people who want to study at university level, while the General Training Module is for people who want to work or train in an English-speaking country.

Each module consists of four parts: listening, reading, writing and speaking. You will be given a score from 1-9 for each part, with 9 being the highest score. Your overall score will be an average of these four scores.

If you are taking the IELTS for academic purposes, you will need to achieve a minimum score of 6.5 to be considered for admission into most universities. For general training purposes, you will need to achieve a minimum score of 5.5.

1.What is IELTS?

International English Language Learning Testing System. It is a language proficiency test to evaluate the skills of the candidate who wants to go abroad either for their study, work or training programs.

The candidate or the test taker have to take the first three sections of the test on the same day, in the following order: Writing, Listening and Reading. There will be no breaks between these tests. The Speaking test will be held either on the same day or seven days before or two days after that, depending on local arrangements.

Test has four sections Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing (60 minutes) and Speaking (11-14 minutes). The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.

If the candidate is applying for study visa he/she should opt IELTS Academic whereas, if he/she is applying for work visa, should go for IELTS General Training.

The fee for pen and paper IELTS exam is 16250 INR, Computer-delivered IELTS for UKVI is 16,500 INR and Computer-delivered IELTS is 16,500 INR. The fee remains same for IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training.
